Out this aft, and heard a Black-naped Oriole in the private garden at Sai Wan - where I occasionally here this species in spring, suspect it breeds (if so, it's one of few sites this oriole nests in Hong Kong).

Just noticed this is my first post this month. Partly reflects being v busy, but also - a quiet spring for birds, in Hong Kong generally, but especially on Cheung Chau. I earlier saw single Narcissus and Brown flycatchers one day; heard my first Indian Cuckoon (One more bottle!) around 8 April. But otherwise, not a lot, not even during passage of Tropical Storm Neoguri last Friday and Saturday.
