Bye-bye to beach rocks in Nov 09

From HK Govt news:

Rock outcrops which jeopardise swimmers' safety will be trimmed and removed from beaches at Cheung Chau Tung Wan and Kwun Yam in Cheung Chau and Lo So Shing on Lamma Island by March next year.

Scheduled to begin in November, works at the Cheung Chau beaches will involve about a total of 22,060 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed.

The works on Lamma will start in December and cover about 8,420 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed.

Quote from Lee Lai Shan

Just Wikipedia info on Cheung Chau's renowned, Olympic gold medal winning windsurfer Lee Lai Shan, at:

Mentions her being known as the "Windsurfing queen" - not surprising; but the only Quote from her - and it's given prominence - is hardly exciting:

"Hong Kong athletes are not rubbish!"
